Meet Vicki

An interview with Vicki:

What is most important as a stylist?

First, it’s crucial to be able to interpret what someone is asking for and then the technical skills to deliver. Sometimes this means explaining how something a little different would be better. Then beyond that is consistency in my guest’s hair experience. Whether it’s the first, third, fifth time or going on 10 years in my chair, being able to deliver and exceed hair goals is what it’s all about!

Chair Confessions?

I love a great conversation, don’t get me wrong. As a former bartender I’ve masterered the art of great speak, but I’m actually a much better listener. I love when my clients happily chat away while I work my magic.

What do I want clients to know?

I could go on and on about my street creds as a stylist, but I know that most people would have no idea what it all means. So about being updated on the latest trends and techniques? Of course. Girl, I got you! My curly heads who’ve been traumatized in the past? I got you too! I also have curly hair so I know the issues that come up. Just come in, relax, sip on something nice, and tell me what your visions and goals are for your hairstyle. I will consult about everything with you until I get the green light to move forward.

Favorite part of doing hair?

I often get asked if I prefer cutting or coloring hair more. I could never choose one over the other! I love the process of seeing the entire look through. I love cutting a strong shape and coloring the canvas with the end result being the luxury of gracefully grown out hair.

Any more confessions?

I would love to live on a farm. I love animals and open space. While that isn’t possible at the moment, I love spending time in my garden, I keep trying to perfect my composting methods, and I do have fur and feather babies- 2 Guinea Pigs, 1 Black Lab and 5 chickens to be exact.

Off time?

When I’m not in the salon, you’ll find me chasing after my 3 young daughters, starting the latest health trend, attempting some form of exercise, and geeking out on a new topic that has caught my attention.
